The card I've made for you today is actually a preview of the Bold Blossom set in the 2011 Occasions Mini releasing next week!! I couldn't decide what colors to use so I also went by the Stamping 411's color challenge!

Christmas Blog Hop - Mr. & Mrs. Clause Owl Tutorial

Hey everyone!


Welcome to the Christmas Card Blog Hop! If you've come from visiting Jamie, you're in the right place. If you were just looking at my blog and want to play along with our blog hopping fun, you can go to the beginning at Crafty Card Gallery. If you haven’t already started/finished your Christmas cards, hopefully this will inspire you to come up with an idea... and maybe you can win some blog candy or get ideas for great Christmas gifts (whether they’re on your list or for someone else!). So if you aren’t braving the malls and can get some computer time, come join us for some fun!

Some of you may have seen my Mr. & Mrs. Clause Owl card I posted yesterday for the Finally Friday Sparkle challenge at GAB (Gimme A Break) Challenges. I decided to give everyone a tutorial as it was requested. These were really easy cards to make and I had so much fun puting them together!


Mr. & Mrs. Clause Owls



You will need:
Jolly Old St Nick Stamp Set $17.95 #121321
Clear Block E $11.95 #118484
Two Step Owl Punch $16.95 #118074
Basic Black $6.95 #121045
Whisper White CS $8.50 #100730

2-Way Glue Pen $3.50 #100425

 

1. Punch the two-step owl in both crumb cake and soft suede.



2. Punch the medium circles only in whisper white for the eyes.

3. Punch the smallest circles in black cardstock.

4. Piece together your owls using the 2-way glue.

5. Set your owls aside. You now need Jolly Old St. Nick,
 Block E, Early Espresso Ink, Whisper White CS.

6. To save paper, ink up the Santa face stamp and only stamp
the top portion twice as you only need the hats.
7. Color one Santa hat with Real Red.
8. Color the second hat as shown above.

9. Cut out your Santa hats as show above.

10. Now you will need to trim your hats down as shown
so they'll fit on your owls heads properly.

11. Using your 2-way glue start with the white on the hats and cover them
with chunky silver glitter. Repeat this with the red on the hats using chunky red glitter.

12. Your owls and hats should look as seen above.
Now all you have to do is put it on your card!

SU Stars Holiday Blog Hop! **Candy Alert**

It's Been a While

Hey everyone!!

I know it's been quite a while since I've posted so I just wanted to briefly fill everyone in on my crazy October and let you know I'M BACK!!

First of all, as some of you may know I was put on bed restat the end of my pregnancy and went to the hospital to be induced on October 11th! My son joined the world that evening at 7:11 weighing 7lbs 5oz at 20 inches long! I must say I was afraid I was going to hurt him since my first 8lbs when he was born! Amazing what a difference 11oz can make in a newborn! Anyhow, here is a picture of Calvin Joseph Allen shortly after making his debut...

Now that JoJo is 3 weeks old and we've got a pretty good schedule going I've been able to get back on my feet and got everything situated at home so I have my free time to stamp again!! That's pretty much what I've been up to lately!

Last but not least I just wanted to let everyone know what they can look forward to these next couple months!!

I wanted to do a fun project for my hop spot and with Halloween being the theme what better project to feature than something involving CANDY!? I have made three different sized nugget boxes to share with you all today! (Individual pictures of each & measurements further down)

Aren't they cute?! They were soo FUN to make!

The Spooky Box is a 1x6 nugget box.

Accessories: Spider Web Embossing Folder, Dimensionals, Curly Label Punch, Sticky Strip

You can use Avery 5160 labels to wrap around your nuggets after decorating or cut your strips at 1x 3 1/4. I chose to cut mine out of cardstock as the labels are a little smaller in width giving you less decorating room. Be sure to use the sticky strip to adhere your cardstock to the nuggets as the cardstock is also heavier than the labels!
